Many families involved with St. Augustine’s own their own businesses and are happy to employ St. Augustine’s students during the summers or throughout the year, so they can gain real world work experience, invaluable skills, mentorship, and extra change in their pocket. From an educational perspective, labor develops the cardinal virtues for young people. Learning hard work, punctuality, trustworthiness, and dependability develops their confidence in their ability to in the working world. Developing both the mind and body helps you know who you are. International award winning landscaper, John Cullen’s—whose children attend St. Augustine’s—company motto is “God makes. Man shapes.” Beyond this, Mr. Cullen uses his company as an opportunity to shape the young men who come to work for him more into the image of God and serving as a true mentor to them.

Russell Renovations
Russell Renovations is owned by Gabe Russell, Dr. and Mrs. Russell’s son. Founded in 2015, they service Pinckney and the surrounding areas including Ann Arbor, Brighton and Chelsea. Their fully licensed and insured company has experience completing hundreds of projects including kitchen and bath remodels, finishing basements, flooring, decks, additions, and new construction.
